Are you pregnant and overdue?
So often I come into contact with individuals who are carrying special messages, gifts, and talents that are laying dormant waiting to be shared with the world. But, overtime the cares of life overshadow those gifts and cause a unnecessary delay in delivery. Note I said “unnecessary”. There are preparation seasons in our lives where God is preparing us with knowledge, wisdom and experience that will help us be more effective when we deliver those gifts. But, there are also times when we Know it’s time deliver but delay moving forward because of fear.
I can remember a time years ago I was working as a marketing consultant. Fresh out of school, I was talented, eager and AFRAID. I spent countless hours in preparation. Developing marketing materials, setting up my office, and talking to other consultants about their business.
One day my manager called me into his office. He congratulated me on the marketing work I done and said, “ I think you’ve done plenty in the area of preparation. Now, It’s time to go out and start soliciting clients.” What he was really saying was….Stop hiding in your office where your safe from rejection and go grow your business.
After a few more days of dealing with the mental battle I was in, I began to go after new clients. Soon thereafter, I met my first client and was well on my way.
Many of you have been carrying gifts and talents inside of you for far too long. Some of you have books waiting to be birthed, ministries and programs ready to change lives, and businesses ready to flourish. Like any pregnancy one must carry the baby through it’s critical developmental stages; giving it proper nourishment and learning to care for it once it is delivered.
But there comes a time when the birthing process must take place. Usually, the indication for birthing time is a feeling that the mother is well aware of. Most times it will come in the form of contractions and other pain. Don’t try to turn back when the pain starts to kick in. Remember, it’s all part of the process.
After preparation and delivery life springs forth and the world is now ready to experience the special gift.
For me, my greatest antidote to fear and pressure is my faith. When you have an understanding that God is the giver of your gifts and talents, you can stand in a certain assurance that He will supply you with everything necessary to carry out the purpose attached to them.
Are you pregnant but overdue? Its birthing time!!!
